Struggles continue for jayvee boys

A tough season continued Tuesday night for the Halifax County High School jayvee boys’ basketball team.

The Comets fell to PH, 65-32, with Halifax hampered by a very slow start offensively.

Halifax did not have a field goal in the first period and the Comets were outscored, 17-2, at the end of the first period.

Halifax got back on track, scoring 12 points in the second period. PH was a shade better, getting 16, and the Pats led, 33-14, at the break. HCHS had 17 points in the second half and ran out of gas.

Kory Lennon has now joined the JVs and the sophomore had a terrific impact, scoring 14 points, including six-of-eight marksmanship from the foul line.

No other Comet scored in double figures, with Nick Jones and Deshane Davis adding four points apiece.

PH was generally very consistent offensively, scoring 17 points in the first period, 16 in the second, 12 in the third and 20 in the final quarter.
