PV girls mauled by Brunswick
SoVaNow.com / January 09, 2013The Park View Lady Dragons dropped to 4-8 on the season after suffering a 60-point loss to Brunswick on Friday night, 84-24.
The homesteading Lady Bulldogs got off to a quick start, doubling Park View’s score in the first quarter alone, 17-8.
It was the second quarter, however, that saw the game turn into a rout. The Lady Dragons scored nine points to 31 for the Brunswick girls, who took a 48-17 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Brunswick scored another 36 points in the second half —15 in the third period and 21 in the fourth — to complete the night. The Lady Dragons scored just seven points in the second half.
Briana Rogers was the high scorer for Park View with seven points and two rebounds.
Dare Wright scored six points and and had eight rebounds for the Lady Dragons.
Brunswick’s high scorer was Desiray Bennet with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Juanita Eshelman scored 13 points, and freshman Bria Stith added 11 points and had 8 rebounds.
The Dragon girls faced Prince Edward last night [Tuesday] and will take on Greensville County on Friday.
