Comets drop tough road match to FC

The Halifax County High School varsity volleyball team dropped a tough road match to Piedmont district rival Franklin County Tuesday, three games to two.

HCHS had bouts of inconsistency, winning the first game, 25-18, but dropping game two, 25-21. HCHS lost game three, 25-18, but rallied to win the fourth game, 25-22. Franklin County won the final game, 15-10, to close out the match.

Taylor Barnes had one ace, ten good serves, eight service points, two kills, three attacks, and 11 good passes.

Chris Bradshaw had 14 good serves, 11 service points, five attacks. Cecilie Elliott had three aces, 14 good serves, six service points, three attacks.

Megan Puckett had four good serves, two service points, one attack and four good passes.

Madison Puryear had two attacks and eight good sets.

Logan Redd had one ace, one good serve, one service point, five attacks and two good passes.

Gabrielle Spainhour had one ace, nine good serves, five service points, five attacks, and eight good passes.

Whitney White had four aces, 17 good serves, 13 service points, and 23 attacks.

The Comet jayvee volleyball team won a Piedmont district match against Franklin County Tuesday, two games to none.

HCHS won, 25-12 and 25-18.

Haley Wooding had eight aces, eight good serves, eight service points, one kill, two attacks and six good passes. Rose Spainhour had two good serves, one attack and five good passes.

Denia Rauls provided five aces, eight good serves, eight service points, two kills and nine attacks. She also had four good passes. Amber Moore had two aces, five good serves, two service points and two good passes.

Christy McFadden had one ace, three good serves, one service point, two kills and five attacks. Rebecca McCormick had three good serves. Mackenzie Lawter had two good serves, three good passes and 11 good sets.
