Former Prosecutors support Tracy Quackenbush Martin

SoVaNow.com / November 04, 2013

Dear Viewpoint:

We are writing in response to Tim Boyle’s letter in your Oct. 31 edition. We think it is important for the citizens of Halifax County to know that Mr. Boyle does not know us. He has not worked with us. We do not know him. What we do know about him is that is not a resident of Halifax County, but that he is a leader in the Republican Party in Mecklenburg County.

Mr. Boyle’s letter argues not from the full facts, but instead uses “maybe if” and innuendo, because that is all that he has. He criticizes us, but fails to mention that Mr. Freshour was our direct supervisor. To be clear, not a single one of us was fired or asked to resign. We have all gone on successfully with our careers.

In the end, Mr. Boyle’s letter says nothing about the two people who are actually candidates for Commonwealth’s Attorney. We stand by everything we have said about both candidates and we encourage the citizens of Halifax County to vote for Tracy Quackenbush Martin.

Sincerely,

Bryan Layton – Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Halifax County, 2003-2007

William Hamilton – Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Halifax County, 2005-2011

Lisa Francisco – Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Halifax County, 2008-2011, Regional Drug Prosecutor, Halifax County, 2011-2012

Elizabeth Blair Toner – Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Halifax County, 2012-2013

(Please note that Leslie Schneider – Regional Drug Prosecutor, Halifax County, 2008-2010, is currently out of the country for business and was unable to be reached in time for publication.)
