He was born on Sept. 5, 1935 to the late Albert Love and Beatrice Carter Love. He received his education in the Mecklenburg County Public Schools. Roger, as he was fondly called, accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the St. Level Baptist Church. He married Alberta Craddock and to this union a son was born, Roger Kent Love Jr., “Buddy”. Roger performed and worked a number of jobs and professions to support his family, such as electrical helper, carpenter helper, construction, Burlington Industries, R.W. Love, “Tree Experts”, Southland Products and Farmer.
William leaves to cherish fond memories a loving and devoted wife, Alberta; a son, Roger Kent Love Jr.; one grandchild, Brittany Ashe; one great grandchild Sera Ashe; two sister: Ruby M. Hartfield and Ruth Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. at St. Level Baptist Church in Clarksville.
Carter’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
