Marshall J. Pettus

Marshall J. Pettus “Flap”, 76 of Chase City, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Jan. 1, at his residence.

Mr. Pettus was born in Mecklenburg County, June 6, 1936 to the late Pauline Pettus. He was raised by his late grandmother, Bertha Pettus. Marshall attended Concord Elementary school and was a member of Holy Name Church of Jesus, Chase City. Mr. Pettus was a farmer in early life and later became a logger until his health began to fail.

Cherishing his memories are his devoted step grandson, Chad Hayes of Chase City, a Godson, Clarence Day of Chase City, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A funeral was held Sunday, Jan. 6, at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Pastor Gladys Watson, officiating. Burial followed in Thyne Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
