Lucille Harris Oliver

SoVaNow.com / September 11, 2013

Lucille Harris Oliver was born Dec. 9, 1945. She was affectionately known as “Pooh” by her grandchildren and many family and friends.

She peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was employed at Russell Stover Candy and Burlington Industries. She loved talking on the phone and playing bingo. She had love in her heart for all people and would do what she could to help anyone. She was a woman of faith and truly believed in the Lord. Through all of her illnesses you never once heard her say, “I’m not going to make it” or “I can’t do it.” She knew her faith and beliefs would carry her through.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 49 years, Clem Oliver; three daughters: Willie Harriett Wilkerson (Timothy) of Chesapeake, Pamela Oliver of Clarksville and Veronica Baskerville (Floyd) of Clarksville; four grandchildren: Terri, Brandon, Jasmine and Forest; one great grandson, Caleb; one sister, Maxine Benjamin; one adopted brother, Melvin Harris; devoted family members: sisters-in-law, Roxie; cousin, Jean; niece, Marian; and nephews Joseph, Darryl and Micheal H.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One sister, Mamie Lewis and one brother, Charles Harris preceded her in death.

Professional arrangements entrusted to Carter’s Funeral Home.
