Town of Halifax prepares for Open House, children’s parade
SoVaNow.com / November 21, 2012The Halifax Village Association will host its annual Open House event on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2 from 1-5 p.m. Stores in the town will be offering special Christmas savings during the four-hour long event, as well as providing refreshments, prizes and a treasure hunt for the kids.
On Friday, Nov. 30 the Town and Village Association will be hosting their annual Children’s Mini-Float Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The parade, which always draws a big crowd, is for kids 12 years and under who decorate wagons to make mini-floats. This year’s theme is “Christmas Past, Present or Future.”
Participants will line up at Patient Transport near the stoplight and finish at the Farmers Market parking lot. No motorized vehicles are allowed, but parents may walk along side their youngsters.
The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. Of course, Santa Claus will be on hand for the occasion.
Applications for parade entries are now available at the local Halifax businesses.
