Suspect held without bond in stabbing

SoVaNow.com / February 14, 2014

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in a Saturday stabbing at Leighwood Trail outside of Halifax. The suspect, Kelvin Faulkner of South Boston, 48, is being held on one count of malicious wounding.

Sheriff Fred S. Clark said this week that upon arriving at the scene, deputies were informed that an individual had been stabbed and had been transported to Halifax Regional Hospital by private vehicle. Authorities contacted the hospital and were told that a subject was being treated for stab wounds to the neck and shoulder area.

The deputies’ investigation led to the arrest of Faulkner, who is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail with no bond.

The investigation into the incident is continuing. Anyone with any information is asked to please contact Lieutenant Mike Womack or Deputy Tyler Clarke at 434-476-3339.
