No foul play in recent South Boston deaths

SoVaNow.com / March 20, 2014
South Boston Police Detective Randy Redd reported on Tuesday that no foul play is suspected in the recent deaths of two people found dead earlier this month.

The body of Walter L. Meadows, 64,was spotted lying on his front porch on Sixth Street by a neighbor on Monday afternoon, March 3 around 3 p.m. Upon their arrival police and rescue personnel declared the man dead at the scene.

Then two days later on Wednesday morning around 7:30 a.m. police were called to the 1900 block of Hodges Street near its intersection with Marshall Avenue where a home owner found 59 year old Lucy Majors unconscious, lying in the grass off of Hodges. She was declared dead at the scene.

According to Redd preliminary reports indicate that both died from environmental cold exposure. Toxicology results relating to both cases may take several more weeks before being completing, Redd added.
