Crashes result in minor injuries
SoVaNow.com / March 03, 2014South Boston Police investigated two car crashes on Friday, Feb. 28 that resulted in heavy property damages, but only minor injuries to the drivers.
In the first crash, shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Seymour Drive and Factory Street, Sgt. G. Gilliam charged 26 year old Robin C. Dixon of Scottsburg with failure to stop at a stop sign after a 2004 Mazda 6 she was operating struck a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer operated by Sean A. Jennings, 37, of South Boston.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries.
Damages to Dixon’s Mazda were estimated at $12,000 while Jennings’ Mercury sustained $6,000 in damages.
Later on Friday night, Officer C. Collie charged 35 year old Eduardo J. Ferguson of South Boston with failure to maintain control of his vehicle. Ferguson was driving a 2002 BMW 3251 eastbound on Glendale Drive when the car ran off the left side of the roadway and down an embankment.
Ferguson was not injured. Collie estimated damages to the car at $6,000.
