Worship service at Scottsburg UMC opened with the prelude “Revelation Song” played by Lee Snead. Call to worship was “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” by the choir. Rev. Marsha Davis had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led the preparation for worship. Hymn of praise was “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.” Offertory hymn was “Still.” Tim Snead was usher. Choir anthem was “Just a Closer Walk With Thee.” Rev. Davis led the prayer of illumination, read Acts 16: 9-15 and her message “Coincidence or Providence?” She led confession, had joys and concerns, prayer and led the Lord’s prayer. Sacraments of Holy Communion were observed and Lee Snead assisted. Closing hymn was “Shall We Gather at the River.” Rev. Davis had dismissal blessing and benediction was “Bond of Love.” Tim Snead was acolyte.

Davis had welcome remarks, announcements, prayer and led preparation for worship. Hymn of praise was “I Am Thine O Lord.” Offertory hymn was “Grace Greater Than Our Sins.” Ushers were Edd Edmondson and David Conner. Choir anthem was “Jesus Lord of All.” Rev. Davis led the prayer of illumination, read Acts 16: 9-15 and her message on “Coincidence or Providence?” She led confession, had joys and concerns, prayer and led the Lord’s prayer. Sacraments of Holy Communion were observed and Megan Martin assisted. Communion hymn was “Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross.” Closing hymn was “Take Time to Be Holy.” Rev. Davis had dismissal blessing and the benediction “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” Summer Martin was acolyte.

Faye Edmondson and Michelle Womack hosted a surprise birthday party for Hugh Edmondson Sunday. Guests were Mac and Ann Edmondson, James and Jeanette Wilborn, Edd and Joyce Edmondson, Maggie and Jimmy Edmondson, Ray Conner. Monday, Phyllis Ligon, Gayle Conner, Juanita Smiley and Billy Ligon visited and celebrated Hugh’s birthday with cake and ice cream. W.T. and Dee Powell visited Hugh Sunday.
