Phase 1 of the Clarksville Fine Arts Center “Sittin’ Pretty” campaign is on track to reach the campaign’s first goal: refurbished seating. With private donations of $19,390 and the Players and the Preservation fund adding $12,500 each, $44,390 comes to within $10,000 of bringing new seating to the building.

The painted seats on the sign posted in front of the Clarksville Fine Arts Center indicate that the Sittin’ Pretty Campaign has begun with an impressive thrust toward the goal of $125,000. The plan is to refurbish all the theater seats, saving the cast iron frames and recovering the seats and refinishing the arms. If all goes as planned, the seats will be removed late in December and returned in time for the first production in 2013.

Funds from the fund-raiser at The Cowboy-Up Cafe and Grill will go toward renovating the Clarksville Fine Arts Center.
The Clarksville Fine Arts Center Preservation Team will benefit from a June 2 fund-raiser by the Cowboy-Up Bar & Grill in Virgilina, which has collected funds for many needy causes in the past.
